Once upon a time, there was a man named J and a woman named M who
had never met each other. Their love story began in the summer of 2020, when they connected over their affinity for the Oxford Comma which led to a Facetime date where the chemistry was instantaneous. Their love blossomed as M showed J her hometown of Los Angeles with carefully planned dates to all her favorite spots and J cooked M the first of many delicious meals.
J took M to his hometown, New York City, in December 2021. They had hot dogs at Katz’s, drinks at Bemmelman’s, and said “I love you” at an LCD Soundsystem concert.
Their love for travel and adventure grew as they continued to get to know each other with trips to northern California, Mexico, Italy, France, Australia, South Korea, and the English countryside just to name a few.
When they weren’t traveling, their favorite thing to do was to have a big cooking day - wake up early, go to the grocery store, take on a big, multi-hour recipe, and cook all day long while watching Australian Survivor or a great movie.
In March 2023, J told M to pack a bag but he wouldn’t tell her where. On a Wednesday, he picked her up and whisked her to the airport to fly to Maui. When M asked J why they were going on a trip, he said because they had been stressed and wanted to give themselves a little treat. On the 3rd day, J took M for a pre-dinner walk on the beach. He asked her to stand by the palm trees so that he could take a picture of her. When she turned around, he was down on one knee. After momentarily blacking out from pure joy, they had a magical, multi-course meal with each dish based off a moment in their relationship. This included oysters, lots of champagne, an early girl tomato pasta, and of course a chocolate chip cookie.
In October 2023, J&M went on their biggest adventure yet. They moved from Los Angeles to New York City. Since then they have cooked many a red sauce, experienced a light first snow (and later a real snow fall big enough for snow angels), decorated a Christmas tree, and almost killed 2 fiddle leaf trees. If you are ever in NYC, let them know. They’d love to see you!
